Just bought a "new" to me 2003 S-Type 4.2 L. 97K miles. The sunroof will not operate either from the remote or from the overhead console switch. The fuse for the module is good. I am trying to get to the overhead switch to see if it is working but I can't figure out how to take the console apart to check it. Any ideas either how to get the switch out or what else might be wrong with the sunroof. I tried the reste trick and also rebooted by removing the negative battery cable for five or ten minutes. I hear no clicks when I operate the switch.

 

If you plan on doing your own work get the free JTIS and JEPC from this forum. Lots of pictures and part numbers to help you out. These are the factory documents and we are lucky to have free access to them.

Careful with the overhead console until you see the layout of the retaining tabs. Pretty easy to break expensive stuff so go slow and know what you are doing before starting any repair!
