Sad day today.......

I sold my 2005 Type-R and I hated to do - it but the last 3 1/2 years of this sour (more like f'n bitter) economy has really forced my hand. I know I'm not alone out there.
It's been an unbelievable 2 years with the kitty (not wanting to use the P-word - haha) and I loved every damn minute of it. I've had many cars and by far, she was the most enjoybale driver's car. The accompanying speeding tickets between Phoenix and Las Vegas certainly took away a little bit from the whole experience but it was damn worth it.![Icon Imnotworthy](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_imnotworthy.gif)
Not the most active posters in here but this forum has really helped me and Lord knows I read it diligently. Maybe I can find another one when times are better. Stay safe out there.

I fully understand. Economics is always a critical decision when it comes to vehicle choice. Even during times of plenty, I always have at least one eye on the cost-of-ownership chart for all of our vehicles (currently the 2006 XK8, the 2005 S-Type 3.0, a 2004 Lexus RX330 AWD, and a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500-series 5.9-liter V8 pickup)....
With gas prices headed nowhere but up and just two drivers for the four vehicles in our household, I need to sell one of our vehicles as well. I prefer to unload the Lexus but my wife is fighting me to keep it since it is our only remaining AWD vehicle and it handles the occasional snow and ice quite well. We'll see....
In the meantime, enjoy the memories of your STR. The good news is that if you decide in the future that you want another one, this forum will be here to help you as always and the STR remains very affordable to acquire (but perhaps somewhat costly to operate as you well know)....

My condolences STypeR. Am going through the same thing. My 2000 S-Type is my dream car so I am having to make man sacrifices to keep the car beautiful and running in top form. I am having to learn the tech procedures to repair myself. I am a pretty good mechanic but the Jaguar has presented me with the most intriguing challenge yet. I hope your economidal situation improves and you can get back to enjoying your dream "kitty"!

Damn, I hate unintended separations...........but I understand. StypeR, you fight the good fight and we'll keep your seat warm 'til you come back with your next Jag.
He**, you don't have to have a Jag just to come back and visit. You won't forget everything you learned just 'cause the kitty's gone.
Cheers,
