Hey hey……Windows 11 worked fine. a full SDD install. Apparently the files were corrupt that I had downloaded. Have screen is back up. That was painful. I must have downloaded a dozen .KWI files but this one worked liked a charm.
Just burn it and finalize it to a standard DVD-R. Turned on the car with the burnt DVD that I popped in and it was literally like 2 minutes. The first thing that happened was the 50 51 went back to displaying temperature and a few seconds later up popped the screen to audio, as I had a cd playing, I have a new leaper screen but everything is back to normal.

So I'm clear for me, was it the .KWI file you got from my Dropbox that finally worked ?

Hi Interesting to read through all of this but I have a question that I hope someone may be able to answer. Right now my Sat Nav still functions in a limited way (because I have a Japanese import semi converted to english) . If I end up with a blank screen from trying to update from 2011-12 disc can this Loading.kwi file save the day for me too ?
Has anyone tried to force an update from the 2011-12 disc in an imported car ?
Looking at wiring diagrams the imported S types dont have the regular circuits of the european and american models.

Hi, yes I was thinking I may have to correct the error 50 lockout if my attempt at forcing an update of the firmware failed when using the 2011-12 disc. I am thinking I need to force a firmware update to get away from the problem of greyed out input buttons. Maps appear and take screen touch input but the buttons for entering addresses and post codes dont work, I assume because I have japanese firmware inside the Sat Nav disc drive unit. I am hoping someone may have got past this obstacle without a black screen lockout.

Wary of firmware update
Hi I think I have a 2004 disc in now, was 2001 before that and must have been a japanese version before that one. I got hold of a Europe 2011-2012 disc 1x43-10E898-AP but is not recognised as a map dvd. Could be faulty since the 2004 one was recognised ok. However both 2001 and 2004 discs have grey out buttons for address and postal codes while maps do show up.I replaced the disc drive but just got the not recognised as a map dvd in all I tried, so I went back to the japanese one. Perhaps I should try another drive and 2012 disc.
In view of all this I have been reluctant to press the update software button in the hidden menu for fear of a black screen that I may not recover from (as I have a japanese drive).
I have looked at the files on 2011-12 disc and the load file is there but since the disc does not run I have not the nerve to press the update firmware button..

Is this file still valid? I tried using it but had no luck.
Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased an updated Jaguar GPS DVD from eBay and after a few attempts at installing it, I also go the 50 51 error. I like many of you called everyone and searched online for countless hours looking for a quick and inexpensive fix.
I decided to look through the updated DVD disk and simply extract the LOADING.KWI file and burn it to a regular DVD-R disk and put it into the unit, what's the worst that could happen.
After being quoted almost $4300 from Jaguar to fix the unit, and another $2100 from a Jaguar specialist. I am extremely happy to report that a $.15 DVD-R fixed my issue.
I am attaching the LOADING.KWI file to this post in case anyone else has this issue.
Simply extract the LOADING.KWI file from the ZIP file and burn it onto a REGULAR BLANK DVD-R at the slowest your DVD will allow, mine was 4x. Make sure that you "FINALIZE" the DVD (at least in my program that's what it's called).
I turned the car on to eject the DVD that was in the unit and inserted the DVD that I just burned with only the LOADING.KWI file.
I then turned the car off and took the key out for about 30 seconds and turned the car back on and left it on.
I went to go make myself a cup of coffee while leaving the car on and when I came back outside, my GPS unit had come back to life and everything was working perfectly.
I then ejected the DVD with the LOADING.KWI file and inserted my Old Navigation DVD.
I'm sorry for the long post but wanted to make it as detailed as possible.
Again, this fixed my 50 51 error.
Hope it helps
Andy

what is the file name on the kiwi file? Maybe I can find it somewhere else if this link is no good. What disc file name would I need to
search for?

Still having issues
I followed the instructions as close as possible. after putting the new WIKIFILE disc in and pulling the key for 30 sec.
1.) am I supposed to start the car or just turn on ignition.
2.)am I supposed to unzip, open or leave the file zipped to be burned? I’ve opened the file and burned it and I also burned it zipped to try both.
3.)How do I do a hard reset? I did see that mentioned somewhere as well.
I really need help on this, it’s my wife’s car I messed up and the temperature is getting colder and I need her climate control working ASAP if I want to live😂😂
