Default SC coolant hose

I have searched but can not find any good pics of the coolant hose that runs under the SC on the STR. I want to either rerout it or come up with a fix (maybe ss hose?) for it before it becomes an issue while I have the car apart.

Since my time is limited to have the blower off I would like to have the parts on hand before we get started. Anyone have any pics of links that show the problem hose and its connections well?

Try "ttwotees" (Truman). If my memory serves me correctly, he tok pics of his motor dissamble and insertion of new motor. Try the forum search feature.

There was a guy on here a while back (automotive engineer I think) who just went through fixing this was going post a lot of detailed pictures but he hasn't done it yet AFAIK. Originally I think he was going to see about getting a one piece silicone version made up. I was wondering if just re-using the step-up connector and two pieces of silicone heater hose with a slip over woven nylon abrasion cover would be the way to go. But I've not had this apart, thank god, so I may be missing something that's obvious to those who have.

I'm interested in seeing the failure point of all of them. TTwotees had a bulging burst in the bigger diameter short section of the hose.

Here was mine: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...sc-hose-65682/ My mechanic replaced the hose with a new one but the part in the pic, like the 2" long connector, was pulled off and an silicone hose section was pushed on...

That is not good and is exactly what I want to avoid!

Nope and that's exactly what I was looking for, something that showed it and the points of connection. I thinking tap the head and water neck with a NPT X AN fitting and just use SS braided hose.

I'm confused by your post. Your mechanic replaced it with a new one but you also talk about just replacing the 2" section?

Did you put an entirely new OEM hose in or did you replace the short piece or what exactly?

I see from your other thread that yours also failed in the same spot as TTwotees.

I was to that the new or replacement part was improved from the original but who knows. The hose is fairly cheap if I recall..

Entirely brand new Jag hose, but modified it by putting on a 2" silicone piece...
