Default Scary at high speeds

I dont know how a STR car is supposed to feel at 100+ mph but mine is scary! the front end feels real light and the steering wheel gets loose at high speeds. I hit 145mph the other day and the car scared me. My cobra mustang felt better at 155mph then this thing does at 100mph. At normal highway speeds the car wonders alot and alway have to fight the steering wheel but i thought that was because of the wide tires. Now I think the shocks and or bushings are bad (something has to be wrong!) The front shocks did look slightly wet when i pulled the wheels a month ago. Any suggestions on what to look at or start replacing first? My STR is a 05 with 71K on the clock. Thanks!

Something is wrong then. When was the last time an alignment was done?

It's not normal. I have found my STR to be very much at ease in the upper speed ranges. The biggest thing I notice is I don't think I am going nearly as fast as the speedo says I am!!

check your front and rear suspension
stypes and STR's are known for premature wear around 50,000 miles

The CAT suspension will default to the "stiff" mode if there is an electrical malfunction. As the rest of the bloaks here mention; the struts and/or steering/suspension components, etc. are likely worn/faulty.

I agree with what others have said - something is very wrong.

Check whether there's anything non-standard (missing/added/changed/etc) especially about wheels, tires, suspension, alignment, etc.

It should be fine at 155mph (law allowing) never mind 100mph.

Ditto. Bring her to a competent mechanic for a thorough lookover. Start with tie-rods and alignment.

Alignment was done 2 years ago, 10k miles ago. I have Dunlop sp runflats all around. It's not bent rims, I know what that feel like. I was just wondering what I should start replacing first. I'll do tie rods and shocks and alignment and see what happens. No cats fault and ride never feels stiff. Like I said, I noticed the front dampners slightly greasy. Guess they are smoked. Love to just do bilsteins but don't want no nonsense on the dash.

You can unplug the CATS module in the rear and install normal shocks.

The display on the dash won't say fault?

It was me. The stock CATS struts are manufactured by Bilstien. I chose to swap in non CAT Bilstiens as a means to gain a linear ride quality amongst the H&R Sport lowering springs. If going non-CATS: Open the trunk and you will find two modules laying on the rear bumper wall just prior to the spare tire. Unplug the module on the right. The left module is the rear object sensor. The "Failed Suspension" message will appear on the dash. A hard re-set of the ECU will make it disappear. It wouldn't surprise me that your front and rear tie-rods are worn too.

It is hard to keep everyone straight sometimes. This is why I could never been that guy who juggles multiple women. I would get them all mixed up.
