Default seat height adjustment

My power seat (driver and passenger) seem to be stuck at the highest position-when i try to lower I can hear the motor but it won't go lower-the tilt function works but it would be good to lower my seating position somewhat-good thing I'm not really tall- I assume there is height adjust on these.

Depends on the car but since you have a STR you have the best seats and the most adjustments. Yes it goes up and down.

A bit odd that both seats do it. Have not had that reported before?

Clubarth1 - thanks for confirming the seat height adjustability- I may ask at the dealer next time (may be soon for TCM stuff!)

As I recall there is a separate module for each seat so to have both giving trouble.... Check in case there's a single item in common (fuse or relay).

When I got my STR last year I had a similar problem on the drivers seat. It was stuck full up and would not lower. My passenger seat was fine.

By unbolting the seat and disconnecting the appropriate motor, I was able to free the seat up. It seemed like the screw mechanism had gotten locked up at the end of its range and just needed to be put back in the right position to allow the controller to let the motor run again. I am tall, so I keep the seat fairly low now, but it has not frozen up again.
