My wife's key fob battery died. She turned the key tounlock the drivers door then turned it again to to the left to open the other doors then turned the key again. This locked the security system so we couldn't start the car. We called Jaguar and the tech walked us through the steps todisarm the lock out status. This didn't work. Sadly we took a cab home and can't get the car to the dealership until Monday. Does anyone know how to get the darn thing started?

Hey I appreciate the question! Some people woulda said.. Duh, I have another key. The cat locked itself out completely.
I am kinda frustrated. My car is in the shop, my bike is recovering from me sliding around the corner on the crashbars and I am stuck with a Jag that isn't cooperating. And even if I put a battery in the FOB it has to be programmed.
Other than that I am up for any suggestions!

If it was me and I could get into the trunk I would try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see if it resets the system. But that's me. The alarm should sound until you put the key in the ignition and try to start it. However If it doesn't work the alarm may stay on so it is chancy!

If I could get into the trunk I would have brought the 3 cases of wine we just bought home in the cab last night. Then wouldn't care if the car was in the garage or in the parking lot.
When she turned the key to the left the third time she locked out the entire system. No lights, no nothing. Apparently the lockout system is for atttempts to use a pick for the door. The aarm doesn't even work, there is no electrical at all. I talked to jaguar and they tried the turn the key to the right, turn the key to the left hold for 10 seconds etc. I guess we will have to find a tow company that can tow it to a Jag dealer. The wheels are locked too so the last tow guy couldn't drag it on the truck. I appreciate the assistance and hope we can avoid a trip to the dealer which will be a few hundred dollars at least just to have them do 10 seconds of work and reset the darn car.

It doesn't start, no lights nothing. The alarm doesn't even beep when you turn the key left like it used to.
But, I bet if I coulda found a 17 yr old he could have started and driven it away. I wouldn't have seen the car or the wine again...
When I find out how to disarm the security lock out for the 400 bucks or so the dealer is gonna charge to have someone come to the car I'll post how to do it.
Thanks.

well the first Jaguar I had was a 1964 E type so I know a couple things. Jaguar= screwed ....Jaguar Dealership = really screwed.
I just got an 07 XKR for the wife. The metallic red was a few bucks more than stock color. They had one the owner of the dealership drove. Even though it had 1200 miles it was the same price as new with a small deduction for not having to ship it. Jaguars, shoulda bought a Hundai. Well nope.
We have 4 vehicles this S Type has been the most trouble. The 355 F1 is easier to deal with. The Harley always starts and doesn't leak.
We should have driven that, but we had too much to haul..... The Platinum Jaguar membership includes only the vehicle "Registered" kinda sucky..
