Had it a long time and have kept it up very well.
I just posted my ad in the for sale section;

Really hope a Jaguar guy gets/wants it as it's been my baby since 2009!

As Rick said, best of luck with your sale. Keep us posted....
At some point I will sell my 2005 S-Type 3.0 as well. We have too many vehicles and it makes the most sense to sell my S-Type. Looking for the right buyer, and I will not be surprised if it winds up going to a fellow forum member....

Well yes for now I have my eye on a 2014 XJR. Not sure if I can let go of that kind of money (Cheap DIY guy) but I will never get a deal like I did in December 2008 on my STR!
That was during the great recession and nothing was selling!
Was looking at XFR's but then noticed not a huge difference in XFR and XJR pricing. I have a buddy who purchased a 2015 XJR and a 2014 F Type R, both brand new. So I have been provoked into this! That F Type R is pure sex! And man with 550HP to boot.
As someone pointed out the XFR's sold for $85K-$100K+ new and the 2014 XJR listed for $115K or so. Not that far apart? Still seems crazy to have a $115K car!! I have had several houses in the past that cost less than that amount!
The XJR also has more power at 550HP compared to the 510HP of the XFR and the weights are very close since the XJ is Aluminum. Plus to match the 550HP would require an XFR-S which is a good bit harder to find and higher in price. Don't care for the giant wing on the XFR-S and to be honest I just can't find more than a small handful for sale.
The XJ is much larger and don't know if that will be a problem as the XJR is a LWB car only for 2014. It appears you can get them in SWB or LWB in other years but I have read the XJ was initially designed as a LWB car unlike how it's normally done. Usually it's make the SWB first and then modify that for the LWB version.
Also wanted a 2015 F Type R as that was the first year you could AWD with the V-8. But cost and only a 2 door makes it kind of a limited car.
Now I like to have a sleeper which the STR was great at because it looks like an old man's car and so no one suspects anything (especially the authorities!). The XFR or XJR are stand out cars that draw looks and attention and I think a lot of people drive them because of that factor. That would be a change for me.
If the XJR works out I hope to stay on the forum as I enjoy this as a hobby and of course plan to DIY on the XJR too. I will say it seems the XJ guys don't do their own work near as much as the S Type guys do! Maybe they have less to do? or more money? Really excited about getting a tune and pulley. They have both upper and lower pulley options for the 5.0L.
As an example here is a very pretty blue XJR for $50K with only 28K miles. This is very close in price to a number of XFR's on EBay. I really like this one and it's probably priced the best but I have had multiple cars with black interiors and am ready for a change. But this one is on my short list.

Reliability of all European cars are well below Honda, Nissan, Toyota.
Lexus, Acura Infiniti are much better choices than any European car.. I need to drive about 2500 miles pretty soon and I don't trust my S-type. It let me down once, actually a few times, but one of them was 1000 miles away from my house. I am in process of selling it, nobody wants it, it will probably go dirt cheap!
Maybe I'll find X-type with manual transmission again.

Thank you for all of your contributions over the years Clubairth. I joined the club about the same time as you, having purchased my STR in January 2009. I have yet to find a better deal on a vehicle. I tried selling my STR last year, and I just could not part with it yet. This was my first car, purchased by myself as a college graduation present to myself. I even had one serious offer for my full asking price!
I too am sorely tempted by the F-Type R, as well as the XKR-S, as I really want to experience a two door. As far as four doors go, you definitely cannot go wrong with the XJR!

Just checked out ebay. There are 40 bids on a 2003 STR at $4,100.00 (reserve not met) granted about half the mileage but its a northern vehicle. Just saying....
I am in no way connected to this auction below:

Yes you are right it was priced under the low market value and it is now sold for $3500 to someone on the forum.
Just purchased a 2014 XJR. Under 20K miles and a CPO warranty until August 2019 or 100K miles.
Really wanted the tan and black interior that I saw in an Kaynite Blue XFR. But I lost that one in 2 days and that Kaynite blue is a rare color!
Very handsome color combo on this XJR too!
