Service advise please
New to Jaguar scene.
Would like to go for a deep service on my STR.
My mate works at Jag so will get a great discount but want to make sure that they will not treat me as another in the line and all parts used will be up to spec.
If you could advise on following what will be best to use, also if it need to be done?
-car has 70K on the clock
-engine oil
-gear box oil
-rear diff oil
-spark plugs
-air,petrol filter
There is one thing came out today.Once my girlfriend seat in a pasenger seat, air bag light came on (comes and goes).Steering wheels wobles badly when braking only-there is advisory in paper work that front bearings got play (all brake discs, tyres are new,no knock in suspension)
Is there anything else I should take care of?
Would much appriciate your input.I like to be ahead of mechanics to don't receive stupid comments like you don't have to do it or cannot be done.
Thanx

Congrats on your new Jaguar.
Concerning engine oil...haha...there are alot of threads here with "fights" over whether to use conventional or synthetic and at what time to change it. Let's just sum it up with "whatever makes you feel better" to avoid another long oil thread.
Transmission fluid is stated in the manual as "sealed for life" but I would recommend changing it.
Spark plugs should be fine up to 100k miles.
I am not sure about the history of the car, but at this time, if the original fuel filter wasn't replaced, I would get a new one.
Engine air filter, check to see if it is dirty and replace if necessary.
The airbag issue, I think it is normal so don't worry about it. To my knowledge, there is a sensor which detects if someone is sitting in the passenger seat and turns the passenger airbag on.

Your list looks good...
Only adds would be to have the mechanic check the wheel bearings. If the front discs are new, the bearing could very well cause a vibration.
The only other thing I would add is that one of the other things that is usually glazed over is to replace the brake fluid. When I traded my S Type at 77K, it was in need of it. The mechanic should be able to do it real quick since the service center probably has a power bleed system. For us DIY folks it is much harder...

was at dealership 2day asking about it. I started another post to figure out what they were talking about. Aparently they have another STR on site don't knowing what to do as belt kit doesn't fit - JAGUAR DEALERSHIP, it did put me of straight away. Will do service else where.
