I clean with Lexol soap, but don't over-use it. 5 or 6 times a year, maybe a tad more on the drivers seat. Don't want to use anything harsh. Conditioners - I took a liking to Zymol leather conditioner, used monthly. Apply when it is warm/sunny to open up the pores in the leather.

Creases and wear just add some character.

This is more than character guys. I've been using most of those products in various ways for a lot of years. I currently have 8 cars.

The seats were near perfect when I got it. We've been careful. I've enough experience to know where this is going and it's no place good.

This isn't a car I'm going to keep more than a couple years so I'd like to keep it fairly pristine. Hard to do in NJ eh George?

So, back to sheepskins. I'm pretty sure which ever ones I pick will have the air bag taken into account or I just won't do it.

Can you imagine what that would do OMG!

This is why I wont buy a car to daily drive unless it has a black interior... My 500sl has navy blue but that fell into my lap, and I redid all the leather in it.

90% of the wear marks (slight cracks), dirt in them etc, blend into a black interior.

NJ is actually a bad climate all around for a cars interior... Temp extremes, salt, etc.

Bob, how long have you had the car?

Take care,

George

It's not a daily driver George. Seven months but Dec => Feb it was inactive. 7K miles. It only had 14k when I picked it up.

You're quite welcome, John. I would guess that Hyde Food is still widely available there in the UK. Good stuff, no question about it....

Default Genuine covers available

I am aware of 2 genuine covers available for the front.
JLM 21247 is around 95 pounds from UK.Quite a good cloth set, well made with piped trims and canvas material with foam backing designed not to affect leather surface.
Has Jag logo and is well tailored to fit. Would highly recommend this-very good product. This part number is in the cream colour.

The sheep skin option is again the genuine accessory but only sits in the middle of the seat. Does give some protection but more costly. Here in Australia we have plenty of wool, sheepskin(fleecy hide) and sheep:last count 120 million! It used to be quite popular here to have sheepskin covers tailor made but you end up sitting on the seat rather than in it.
