RE: Shifting into drive
YOU HAVE TO PULL THE CONSOLE UP TO ADJUST, THERE ARE 2 1" NUTS THAT HOLD THE CABLE TO THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. LOOSEN THEM TO ALLOW YOU TO ADJUST. WITH THE SELECTOR IN NEUTRAL ADJUST TILL THE SAME AMOUNT OF FREEPLAY OF THE GEAR SHIFT IS EQUAL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE N SLOT. TIGHTEN And recheck this should put you where you need to be. NOTE..if it looses adjustment again you need a new cable, or you can jack up the car and look at the cable sheath where its crimped to the bracket bolted to the trans. If you see where it looks like some of the plastic sheath has pulled out(youll see the crimp marks on the sheath) replace the cable then too. And dont let this go, fix it now since youre not fully in gear and it bleeds off line pressure in the trans causing slippage and the need for a rebuild
