Default Shocker bush worn

Please advise,
I have a S Type 2002 3ltr auto 55k and the last service states it requires a new bush fitting to the O/S/R shock absorber.
The question is whether there is a special tool and or method required to remove / replace the bush?
Thanks for any input
Paul

Hello Cully

I have recently replaced all four of these bushes, i was told that the rear ones are available but the fronts are not meaning a complete strut assembly is required. I found them available on ebay for front and rear. cost was about $30 a piece.

Fitting was quite difficult, unless you have access to a mechanical or hydraulic press i would not even attempt this.

You will need to remove the shock and spring assembly to do this job although i have read people have managed it without doing so, my opinion is this is impossible.

Special tools no, but deffo a mechanical or hydraulic press will be needed, usually found in a machine shop who will do this for you.
Any decent mechanic/ machine shop would charge about $200 for this so be sure to shop about unless your doing it yourself.

hope this helps and good luck
