Short Block Question

Short Block Question
Alright guys, I recently got an '03 S-Type R, but the kicker is it needs a new motor.
However someone has a totaled S type with the 4.2 NON supercharged motor in it, I was wondering if I could use the short block out of that car with no crossover issues?
Thanks in Advance, David

Moscowleaper is asking a similar question here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-na-xj8-74095/ you might want to keep an eye on that thread also.

I've looked into the cylinder of the 4.2SC today. The pistons are dished, the heads are all the same for 4.2NA and 4.2SC, the only difference is the plug in the oil channel to VCT (which should be removed if the head is installed on NA engine).
I suppose that if you install the NA engine with supercharger the CR will be way to high, so the engine will ping all the time.
Wish you were closer to me, so we can exchange the engines
