I have a 2002 3.0 litre S type which I have just bought.
The centre console cover (slides and lifts when the lever embedded in the lid is operated) is defective.
The slide function is fine and the lid slides when the lever is operated.
However the lid does not locate in the closed position and is able to 'bounce' as the car is driven,
The location lugs seem to operate on a cable attached to the lever, but the attachment has come apart.
How do I take off the lid to be able to examine the operating linkage and if not repairable where do I get a new lid (obviously I would have to fit my upholstery to any new lid).
I would be grateful for any help.
