Sliding Box in Dash Won't Close
Hello,
The sliding box in my dash hasn't been functioning for some time now. I have a 2000 S-Type 4.0L. It seems that some pin that holds the box in is broken, so mine is in a constant state of protrusion. Is there a part I can order to fix this or should I replace the entire box? Also, where might I be able to buy these parts?
I couldn't find any threads addressing this issue, but please direct me to any relevant, existing threads.
Thanks in advance!

The 'box' is called the CASSETTE CUBBY and there is a plastic rocking catch in the bottom/back part of the assy that falls out.
You can buy any color box and swap the front panels or use it for parts.
I would first remove it and see if you can just reinstall the rocking/locking plastic latch.
There should only be 3 colors to choose from.
You can also replace it with a 'TELEPHONE PRESENTER' as an option. This was fitted if the car came equipped with the radio-telephone module and harness.
