Default solar sensor

Have a 2003 S Type R 110K miles.
Sorting out A/C issues.
Last two codes show B2796 and B2426
Both describing Solar radiation sensor circuit open.
Can someone elaborate how this affects A/C performance, if at all?
Thanks

Just guessing, but I don't think you'll see much difference.

Details here, courtesy of Gus:

Jaguar HVAC Training Guide

That covers several models, so scroll to section 3.1.1 for the S-Type.

See 3.4.14 for specific details of the dual solar sensor. Basically, it tweaks the temperature outputs slightly side-to-side to compensate when one side is in the sun and the other is in the shade.

Thanks for the info. I will be replacing the solar unit as I have the dash apart already. "While you're already in there" syndrome has started on this car

If you are talking about replacing the solar sensor located in the demister/defroster panel on the top of the dash, next to the windscreen, please be extremely careful of the panel as they break very easily and are no longer available from Jaguar; good used panels are difficult to locate as well as sooner or later they all crack and fail.

Good luck on your repairs!
