Sold my XJS bought an S-Type
After restoring my XJS I was using it as an everyday car and was finding it a bit tight for room so I have sold it on and bought an 04 face lift 3.0 S.E. It is high mileage at 130k but 2 owner with full service history every 10k miles at the supplying Jaguar dealer. I rang their service department and asked what had been done at each service and 5 mins later they sent me an email showing what had been done at every service which was a bonus. I have painted the wheels black and put in an Alpine sat nav that is really good plus new quality speakers in all the doors and a new chrome gear knob as the original wooden one had seen better days. I went on a trip to Scotland the day after I bought it and it ran lovely what a nice car to drive, it picks it's feet up and cruises quietly. Since I bought it the computer is showing 27mpg but that will be down to the Scottish trip being a steady 70/80 most of the way. The drivers seat has some wear that I am having recoloured the leather was advertised as Nappa and it does feel different to the other one's I sat in. I am going to fit a S-Type R grille and I need to sort out the reverse sensors other than that it's spot on. I paid £2250 for it what great value they are.....silly money. Here are a few pics with my 1960 Mark 2.

I bought the double din kit from a car stereo shop here in the Uk and yes it is a perfect match. The Mark 2 is quite special with cruise electric seats windows central Door locking sat nav reversing camera 3.8 with 4.2 head and triple SU,s ! Yes I used to barefoot my 2 son's where British junior champions and used to stay and ski with Ron Scarpa a lot in the states. They were friends with Dave Small who is now the World Champ.

Nope. Glad it doesn't, btw. It wouldn't be nearly as fun going back and forth to work in the snow... So much fun!
Why do you ask? Please don't say it is because it sits so high.... I so wanted to get Eibach springs for it when I did the suspension rebuild but no $$ in the budget... Then again, who can complain about replacing upper control arms, lower ball joints, lower control arms, sway links, and front and rear shocks for less than $500.

Jeff, knowing there is an AWD option with the Hemi intriqued the performance section of my brain. Wonder how they move off the line with 340 chp and all that trq. Wonder if a modded AWD 300C could blast off the line, etc.? There's a non AWD all stock 2008- 2010? silver 300 C SRT8 (mesh grill, Brembo's, 20's, etc.) on a lot next to my office. Have to admit they look nice and mean out of the box. If werent in the STR, wouldn't mind having it.

I see you edited your post.. at first I was replying to tell you the 2011 SRT cars have a 6.4 that puts out 470hp with MDS. Only problem is the 2011 and up cars are having some minor teething issues with quality. Rattles, leaky roofs, so on and so on.. think early S Types...
Now the 08 - 10 cars are really bullet proof. The AWD cars are 5.7 or 3.5 only and since they are so different mods are very hard to come by and much more money. The AWD system is more 'bad weather utility" than performance. It's no Porsche Turbo or Audi S6...LOL.
That said, go test drive that SRT8 at least. It will "blow you away".... It's not going to handle like your STR... trust me... but I will bet $$ that you will walk away from that with a BIG @SS smile on your face.....
Yea, tell me about it.. That is not a lie.... basically all new parts for $250 a side... and throw in rear shocks to boot. I just did front and rear brakes with new front rotors for $186.... I remember being all excited when I did all four brakes on the S for $500...

Been adding bits as usual, I have ordered a K&N and I am going to take off the baffle part in the airbox. I bought a pair of sports rear boxes from the JEC club they only cost £160 delivered they are a fair bit lighter than the originals!
They were a doddle to fit the old boxes near enough fell off once the clamps were taken off. It sounds great and looks good IMO.
I bought a 2nd hand grille off eBay for £65 that again looks better than the original in my eyes.
And I had the worn driver's seat recoloured the guy I use is really good at the job. The 2 pics look different colours but one was taken in my garage with a good camera and the other outside with my phone but you can still see the improvement.
That's it now all done!

barefoot looking good! Thanks for sharing.
BTW, I have also barefooted with some of the guys mentioned. My brother and I went to Scrapa's Barefoot Training Center a couple of times back in the eighties. We have also had a personal relationship with Keith St Onge.
Rachael George (Womens World Barefoot Champion) just moved up the street from us. She is joining our Show Ski Team water ski shows, Carolina Show Ski Team Carolina Show Ski Team Lucky for me she has two children about the same age as my daughters. Can't wait for ski season!

He does leather restorations/repairs for a living he started off with furniture, he cleans the seats then mixes his own leather paint to make a perfect match and uses an air brush to spray it on. This is Paul about to spray the dash of my XJS green.
Here changed the interior of my son's VX 220 which was a lot cheaper than a full retrim
My XJS front seat the green leather was new the rest painted
