Default Some new pics!

I had a chance before I had to leave out of town to snap some pics of the car in front of the office with a few new mods. Blacked out the side markers and tail lights, carbon wrapped the R logos, had the grill resprayed professional and motor work that of course you cant see LOL and had some paint correction work done. I am waiting for my paint and body guy to get some room so he can pull the wheels and gloss black them and do the calipers red with black R logos and respray the front clip because it has some chipping. I want to lower it a bit more to, maybe another 1/2" or so.

Anyway a few pics, hope if it ever gets cool again to see what the dyno will show, have a lot of Nitrous system in at this point as well

The front reflector still looks yellow in the bottom pic. What'd you use to black it out?

Great job!

Yep just the way the sun is hitting it. They use drops of black into a clear coat to make it your desired tint from light to dark. They are pitch black but the light shows through when the lights are on.

Looks sharp! Love to see it with the black wheels as well. Ride height looks spot on too imo.

I like the look. Almost as if the color was sucked out of the car

Nice qwikcat. I'll have to steal your look soon. Thinkin of swapping out the H&R Sport springs for another brand that lowers her but strong enough to not let the front crash in large dips in the road. Keep up the good work and looking forward to that dyno boy.

Thanks. It is probably low enough now I just really would like a bit more. Chances are good I wont go any lower. Hope they can make a spot for me and get the wheels done in a few weeks.

Thanks, I think it really makes the quartz stand out without all the multi color stuff going on.

Mine do not dip at all that's for sure! I can not wait to dyno it It has been 80+ before the sun comes up in GA for a month now. I think it will be in the 370-380ish range now so should do 450+ at the tires on the spray. Next stop is a port and some other toys that I hope will break 400 on motor alone. We shall see!

Kills me in the $ dept. to do it...but I'm afraid the wavy conditions of the roads and my recent desire for a firmer more stable ride necessitates firmer springs. Mafioso mentioned Eiboks? qwikcat, really looking forward to you cracking into the 400 rwhp club. Will you do it in 3rd or 4th gear? Avos suggested 3rd. Come to think of it...I believe when I dynoed in April, the dyno tech didn't disable DSC. I know he used 4th gear. Does DSC need to be disabled during a dyno run? I smelt burning rubber during the dyno trials. I wish I had the dyno figures as a baseline. Is the "Spray" an easy install?

Yea 4th is what you want since it's the closes to a 1:1 ratio. The dsc needs to be off, I am sure it was any dyno operator would know that. They all smell like rubber it's a combo of the abs freaking out, the drum and the tires on the car. You don't want to touch them as they get nice and hot like a burnout.

Yea the N20 is easy to put in. On the jag for safty sake you need to run a drive by wire/ rpm switch to use for your window switch and trigger points. Nitrous outlet sells a nice one for about 150$ I like and use. Since you don't need much of a shot pre blower I am running the simple NX proton kit on mine.

qwikcat, I'm almost positive the DSC wasn't deactivated during my April dyno run. He did engage "Sport". She put out 360 rwhp. Doesn't matter now cause I never recieved the dyno info. to memorialize the results. Not to sound like a broken record...Our STR's are very close in mods, so I'm eager for your results prior to a blower port and NOS. Never was one for NOS. With all the new muscle metal pushing near or more than 500 ponies...perhaps it's time for some laughing gas?

I hope it cools off in the next few weeks and I can get some numbers. I think 370ish is about right hope to see an 80 but that may be optimistic?once the water/meth, tuning, maybe elec water pump, port and a few other things I have in mind she will get into the 400s on motor it's just a matter if how far into the 4s.

I put juice in eveything, no need not to. Lot of bang for the buck, knock a lot off the 1/4 and a way to show up your buds 996 at a light. That's just a lot of fun for the coin and with a compressed pre blower shot a 50shot will get you 75+ at the tires. I want to break 500rw on juice.

qwikcat, as you said of my STR...I believe with the mods and a cool motor you'll do at least 375 rwhp.

Qikcat, may I inquire where you got that tinting done to the marker/indicator lights? I've been trying to do something similar to my car, but it's black and I'd like to control the light/dark value as much as possible to match the paint color.

Yours looks great though. Well done.

Most custom body shops with paint booths do it. I have a body shop here local (hot wheels) that has done all the paint work to my cars for years including tinted lights.
