Pretty sure they are Alpine branded, as that's what was in my 2003 that got pulled. You're just as well to get aftermarket brands to fit in the same holes as the original OEMs, they will sound just as good (if not better) and last longer.

As for brands, if you ask ten different people on here, you'll get eleven different answers as to which brand makes the best components.

Focal (great, but pricey)
MB Quart (very nice, and reasonable)
Polk Audio Momo series (my personal preference for excellent mids - just as much as the MB Quarts)

One thing I noticed, my original components had a woofer, tweeter, and supertweeter. I replaced it with a typical component set and put the tweeter where the supertweeter was mounted (in the A-pillar), but either location will work just fine for a sound stage.

good luck!

I also have the premium package and I recently switched the front speakers with some Infinity Kappa’s 682.7CF 6x8. The Infinitys are two way speakers with a built in tweeters that pivot for better sound imaging. They also came with acomputer-optimized outboard crossover with tweeter level control. Thesesounds twice as loud astheyApline's, I have some pics too. I recentlyalso added a second tweeter I’ll take a pic & add it later, now when I blast my music my ears ring.. These speakers are recommend to run off 100 wattsbut I didn’t add a ampyet and probably wont, they sound fine just as is.

In case your wondering I got them off Ebay for @ $80 shipped. They fit pefectly in the place of the OEM Alpine speakers. All I did was splice into the negative and positive wires and soder them together. The speaker harness is as you can see in the pic has four diffrent wires, that iswhy I just decided to splice into the wires andsince it sounded so good I deciced that I would keep it that way.

I wonder thatare the differences other than the color? Overall theyare a great upgrades and if you were to add an amp to them they would perform that much better. IMO you do needto addan amp, cuz they run at 2-ohn, if I'm not mistaken. but if you did, then they would really perfome like they were meant to.I just didn't want to go through all the fuss of having to get an amp kit and rewiring the speakers.

Here is thepic that I promised of the extra tweeter. Once again I spliced into the + and - wires and tucked away just enough speaker wiring to allow the tweeters to hang/sit there. I did not tape/glue them or anything. They also made a huge difference ifI have the tremble all the way up my ears will literally ring when I step out of the car.

Keep this is mind, print it out if you have to...the crossovers are huge, but I was able totuck them into the opening where the speakers inside the door. Just let them fall into that space, keeping enough wire to enable you to hook up the speakers. You can lower and raise the window just to make sure that the crossovers does not obstruct the ability of the window opening or closing, then you can screw the speakers right into place.

I'm waiting to hear (pun intended) what you think of these speakers over the OEM Apline's?
Keep in mind, however, to get the most out these speakers they have an RMS of 100 watts.

I received the infinity speakers today. Talk to Infinity and your right, the amp will do the trick. They said to get the infinity Ref 475a amp, its a 4 channel.
Do you know or anyone know what size speakers are in the back.
Infinity also said the amp will handle the back without any problems. I will order the amp and rear speakers as soon as I know the size in the back.
Regards

I believe they are the same size front to rear. Take off the door panel and have a look.
