Thanks!

Dealer called today and they are covering 95% of the bill. the warranty company is not wanting to cover the full labor rate. since I took it to a premium dealership. aka a Jaguar dealership. still $600 for a new motor, blower and accessories isnt bad.

the dealer I took it dropped the motor from under the car and is sending the complete motor as is back to england. so the new motor came with new everything.

The stage 1 or 2 will work fine for the jag. You need more cooling of course, actually you can never have enough I have had the valve covers sweat on 100% meth cars. The killer chiller combined would be great and thats my plan with my setup. The water meth knocks heat down about 20% in most applications, no readings yet on the jag.

I am going to get my KC done soon as my ac needs to be charged soon anyway. Just need some more fittings to get it done.

Not a thing, but Im sure it would be a different tune if I had a modified air box. The elbow didnt change the way the engine breathes since its after the airbox.

Man that sucks, but glad to hear you're getting it fixed. How much did the warrantee cost you originally?

man, I wish I was offered a warranttee for $2460. The cheapest I saw was over $10k when I checked out a couple places and got quotes. They basically didn't want to deal with a jag.

Anyhow, good luck with the work being done. I personally would take the check and then part out the car if they'll cut you a check but that's me(12k is as much as my car is worth). Or I'd toss and ls1 and 6l80 and be done with it. More work but it'd be original and different. (sorry the root of these comments are the problems I've had with my car over the last year... )

I hate to be be the bad guy buy the extended warranty is actually an insurance policy & they have the ability to total the car instead of repairing it. I have run into that a few times in the past year.

Hey I'll take that, if need be. I'd buy it back get another one, and rebuild this motor.

Visited the dealer today. The motor is out of the car and a bunch of pieces.
They wouldnt allow me to take pictures of the carnage but its BAD.

Where do I start?

Blower casing is shot, along with the impler catridge (Given)
driver side intercooler trashed.
Driver side valve train trashed.
cracked exhaust cam (presume from the bent valves)
The lower block girdle that holds the crank bearings is in pieces.
the oil filter, full of glittery sludge.
oil pump seized with metal bits.
oil pan had pieces of the lower block girddle and glittery sludge.
pistons on the driver side scored and pitted.
Block cyclinder walls pitted and scored.

End of story this motor is TRASHED.

Why did they bother taking it apart? Unless it was to justify the total out by the insurance company. I thought the motor was going back to Jag? Sounds like a candidate for the recycling yard. Sorry about that.

What in the h*ll did they do wrong to cause the supercharger to fail like that.

And I thought my turbo failure was bad. Well actually is was. I'm on a second rebuild.

This stuff sucks.

The dealer should be careful as there is a $2500.00 core charge on a rebuilt engine. With that damage the warranty company should known this or the dealer may look to you for that. Does your policy state they have to use new parts or can they use LKQ like kind & quality? It is odd the dealer will not allow you to photograph the engine, what dealership is the car at? Best of luck.

Maybe they want to go after the previous repair shop? Didn't they insist that he use that shop?
