They were trying to locate the point of failure, to see if it was a covered component.

Since Im on the platinum plan where everything is covered, they shouldnt have tore into so much.

on my contract it states low milage used is ok from a certified facility if none avail new it is.

the dealer has not been able to locate a low milage number matching to my build motor so new it is.

When I had my car at the dealer in Jan for fixin, I got an XF for an extra $20/day. The warranty company only went to $30/day and the XF was $50, hence the extra. IMHO, it was well worth it.
Are you allowed to do the same, or similar ??
If not, you may want to wear a disguise driving that thing.

Since they have to go new tell them you will settle for them to adapt the new 5.0 R engine to be fitted under your hood and they can call it straight.

Wow. You are very lucky that you have a warranty on a 9 year old car. I wouldnt be surprised if that car is considered totaled either. I know i would junk it at that point without any coverage. Hopefully they give you a brand new motor, that would be great!!

But then you will have to give up the HHR! I am sure it has made you forget all about your STR by now, eh?

Yep, still wearing the best elbow, monster flow cats, 18" resonators dual X pipe, and a pair of the Spires mufflers with 4" tips.

The Jag tech did complient how everything was laid out and gave me props for take the cats out of the engine bay.

Maf, I saw how you laid out the cats under the chassis. I'm wondering if this could harm them should you go to lowering springs. H&R Sport lowering springs left little height on my STR.
