Stage 1 air intake tubes now available. Will fit STRs
#61
Stage 2 will be a standalone unit although if proved to be beneficial i may make a unit that can be added to the stage 1 to create a 2 part stage 2 intake if that makes sense that way people who have invested in the elbows already regardless of who made them could still see the benefits with a reduced outlay.
Hoping to get some free time to do some more work on the stage 2 in the next week or so.

Any sound clips of your car at idle, cruising, WOT? I've thought about doing exhaust mods, but I don't want it to be something I regret.
Mine was the exact opposite! I had to go find a longer hose to connect the airbox to the intake. But after that it is spectacular. You can hear the blower whine earlier, it's louder, and the seat of my pants tell me that I picked up a few more HP. Recommend to anybody looking for a nice STR intake elbow, can't wait to see what the carbon fiber looks like!

Been over the garage messing around with tubes to fit to throttle body to prove out concept only obstruction in the way is the recirc pipe from supercharger outlet to recirc valve - work ongoing.
In other developments i have managed to get a company to produce some 80mm stainless tubing for me which i am now using for the stage 1s (Cbharley has had one of these trial parts and that is what is pictured on his car) By slightly redesigning the tube it is now not necessary to oval the engine side as i have put a longer length of silicone on to adapt from one shape to the other.
This size of tubing is exactly the same as the outlet from the airbox and also the throttle body as well as fitting easily under the bonnet.
The larger pipe will be provided at the same price as before.
Thanks for the continued support,
John

new intake for 2003 STR
Hi -
Have you still got these available, I would love one!
I tried a mina intake, and am less than impressed.
Please email me at wallsii@gmail.com, if have any of these available.
If possible, I'd be looking for something unpoloshed, as polishing retains heat, but I will take what I can get.
I can always change the finish
Thanks!
JM

Yes still available, although black silicone has a 6 week wait time until I get it ( I have blue silicone only at the moment) . I would have to disagree on the polished versus dull finish as a polished surface will reflect heat as opposed to retaining. That said the amount of time the air has within the tube the heat soak effect would be negligible at best. Ordering can be arranged via pm.

Just wanted to let everyone know I took my str out for the first time on a nice day with the caldoofy intake. I really got on it and let me tell you I can definitely tell the response is much better. Has a bit louder blower whine , not crazy loud like if I had a pulley on too, but im pretty darn happy for 200$ I would do it again that's for sure.

My caldoofy is on it's way!
I am bringing the car to the exhaust shop tomorrow to discuss options and costs with them. Thinking of going with a Magnaflow True X and new rear boxes maybe Dynomax VT's. Don't know what type of muffler to choose. I don't want it to sound like a Flowmaster exhaust. Hate drone... I think I would like more of a traditional Turbo muffler sound. Any thoughts?
Thanks
