Nice caldoofy! The attention to detail and quality appearance of your Cold Air Intake (CAI) is impressive.
I'm looking forward to seeing customer feedback regarding installation. Also, are there any STR customers with before and after numbers yet? I am looking forward to seeing what your CAI will add to the horse power and torque party .
From the small amount of modding to my S-Type R, I have seen the following cumulative power gains at the rear wheels +12 horse power (hp) and + 23 torque (trq).
Stock:
Except for Mina 2.5" rear mufflers
Best 1/4 mile ET = ~13.2 sec @ 105 mph
Best 1/4 mph = ~105 mph
337 hp, 318 trq
Exhaust mod:
Cats (Magnaflow 59975), X-pipe (Magnaflow 10790), removed resonator, Mina 2.5" rear mufflers
Best 1/4 mile ET = 12.916 sec @ 107.45 mph
Best 1/4 mph = 109.48 mph (four runs at 109+ from two different tracks)
343 hp (+6), 327 trq (+9)
Pulley mod:
Pulley change (2.6" pulley) with all the exhaust mods except back to stock cats.
Best 1/4 mile ET = TBD
Best 1/4 mph = TBD
349 hp (+6), 341 trq (+14)After reading many intake modification posts for STRs (keeping the stock air filter box) this seems like a nice upgrade for both sound and power.

Do the STR's use the same M112 Eaton as the XKRs / Range Rover Supercharged's? I'm slowly tuning my Rangie up and this intake looks like it'd fit, although might need slightly longer silicon either end (which I'd trim to fit).
I'm not fussy about colour, so do you have any in stock at the moment?

Stage 2 is coming along ive had to take a different approach though, originally i was going to use 80mm tubing to follow on from the stage 1 and go straight to the throttle body unfortunately the supercharger return pipe was in the way preventing a straight run. There is insufficient clearance to take the pipe higher than this pipe without fouling the bonnet.
So back to the drawing board i have turned my attention to the cast intake already fitted. The current plan is to modify this to create the mould for the carbon reshaping the inlet to round instead of oval, removing some shapes cast into the tube and extending the part directly above the throttle body to improve flow. Obviously when made in carbon the inside of the tube will be smooth as opposed to the current rough surface.
Hopefully the combination of these improvements will translate to improved breathing and ultimately more power. My intention is still to rolling road the car before and after to prove gains. Other work at this moment in time is slowing progress i had hoped to have it done by now!
Thanks for the interest.

Caldoofy intake elbow installed
Just installed the Caldoofy elbow and coupled it to the Mina intake kit. Great fit, super easy and sounds awesome! What a great combo for these cars. Took it for a blast..... the blower whine is just sick. Kudos to the boys for a real cost effective package that unleashes the beast in these cars. For sure more power in the seat and a wicked intake growl from under the hood.

Thanks Cat Man Do. More thanks to Jon and Chris!
Jon (caldoofy) the quality of this elbow set up is second to none! Chris (Mina) your intake set up is phenomenal and the only way to go for these cars! Exceptional engineering and craftsmanship from you both. Can't beat the added HP/TQ for the $$.
I don't know what sounds better the sick Mad Max blower whine or the powerful vortex like growl emanating from the intake?? I'm going for another drive!
Cheers
