What side is the starter on? Can it be reached easily?

where the words "motor mount" are in picture, that's the starter.

The above answers mean it can be reached easily for touching based on Rick's great Pics...fortunately, I've never had occasion to remove either one from our S-Types, so I can't say as to ease-of-removal type reaching
