Sticky gearbox?
Guys,
Had a little 'fun' the other day, just testing the disabling of traction control and kick down ferocity... There is a rather nicely cambered roundabout close to where I live, two lanes and good surface. So I give it a little right foot (to the floor) let the **** hang out just a little and swing it up the road....
Now the box kicked down nicely but seemed to stay in a low gear (5500 rpm at 65-70) for an extraordinarily long time. It seemed that the box did not want to shift up... Eventually it did. It was in sport mode, and I left the shifter in drive.
I have not been able to replicate the effect... No warnings.... No codes... I'm thinking the fluid may be low but I'm getting no slipping or surging.
Perhaps I should not 'hoon' but I'm sure the Jag had a big grin where the grille normally sits.
Any ideas????
Cheers,
