And the inferior filtration does concern me.

I did read one post on this forum some time ago where a member stated they felt they lost power with Mina setup and went back to stock.

Try going back to stock to confirm (or debunk) your suspicions.

I am planning on going back to stock, just want to get my $70 worth out of this thing. I have read and talked to multiple people with the Mina setup, my conclusion, not worth it.

Are you still running through the factory mufflers? The second day I had my '04 Cobra, I think I ordered a Magnaflow catback, an offroad MAC ProChamber with MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) Eliminators to fool the PCM that the catalytic converters were still in place, and a K&N FIPK. What goes in must go out, right? I wanted the airflow to enter and exit the motor as easily as possible. ...and damn did that setup sound goooood.

Nope, dont have factory mufflers. Just my opinion, didnt see anything noticible except a possible loss in the low end range.

Whoa!

I'd love to hear a clip of how that badboy sounds!

If you did indeed lose a little bottom end grunt, your tires may thank you LOL

Looks to me like the OEM filter has many times more pleats then the POS K&N sieve/filter.

The number of pleats is completely irrelevant, its total surface area and how easy that lets air thru, and that is obviously an easy win for the K&N.

Advice for people that want more power: With a vacuum meter you can check for yourself if the K&N flows more or not, it's that simple really, then you can be your own judge and don't have to listen to opinions from people that haven't done any testing themselves.

So anyone in the process of getting more power as primary goal, the first step is the K&N panel filter, next step would be large surface area filter like the K&N cone ones, only thing needed is a larger box where they fit in and good path for outside air to enter. Now if Mina would build that, I could advice one, then you can finally drive with the hood closed to get the estimated gains mina mentions

For anyone that wants longivity instead of power out of their car (this is also the wrong thread to be in) and is worried about extra dirt/silicon particles, then stick to a fiulter that filters out most, the K&N is the wrong choice.
And don't even think of enhancing the power in the first place (unless you landed here accidentaly), reduce it I would even say to increase longevity and stick to the stock pannel filter.
