STR DCCV replacement

STR DCCV replacement
Can someone confirm that the Motorcraft YG378 listed for the 2004-08 Thunderbird is a replacement for the OEM Heater Valve which appears to be leaking on my STR. It appears it works on the V6 but I cannot confirm it works on the STR.
I replaced the coolant expansion tank which was leaking from the sensor connection only to discover I still have a leak albeit one less.
Any tips to replace the DCCV commonly known as the Heater Valve would be most appreciated...

I haven't done it in a 4.2, but here's my .02 of a dollar.
Get a long extension and remove the 8mm bolt holding the valve to the rad support. Then undo the quick disconnects at the lines that go to the heater core, then pull up on it using those lines, and undo the electrical connector. From there pull it all out as an assembly (easier to snake it out of the bottom), then reattach the lines and feed it back up and reverse the process. Don't forget to bleed the coolant when you are done.
Take care,
George

Just make sure it has the same number of hose connections. All Lincoln LS and Jaguar S types use either a 3 hose or a 5 hose version. The STR uses the 3 hose version which was posted above.
3 Hose version is Motorcraft YG378
5 Hose version is Motorcraft YG355
Either RockAuto or Amazon have been the cheapest in the past.

I'd try Amazon on this one first, should be like 85-90 bucks. Same valve in the Bosch box. With a motorcraft sticker on it instead of a Jaguar one and a $225 price jump for the "Jaguar Tax".
Take care,

The closest Jaguar dealer here in Canada quoted me $365 plus shipping. I sourced the YG378 at the local Ford dealer for $157, which is more expensive, but I can't get it shipped direct without ridiculous shipping charges pushing it up to the local cost.
I could get it shipped to the border and drive down which I often do for a big screen, a set of tires and any number of other big ticket plunder. By the time I lose a whole day driving and touring wineries which I can't avoid no matter how hard I try it's a draw. The guy at the Ford dealer gave me a better deal cause the Heater Valve had been on their shelves for a few years so he cut it to cost.
Things in Canada are simply more expensive which we live with given we have Universal Health Care and comprehensive safety nets for those that need it.
I still need someone to tell me that there is only a single bleeder on the tank and not another one I don't want to ignore.
Thanx folks - most appreciated...
