STR with painted reflectors

Nice! Kinda like when the black S-Types blackout their markers.
Hope you don"t lose too much light output. The only thing that really bugged me was the fact that nobody made clear lenses for the front & rear bumpers. But there is some hope now since there is a company out there that just came out with clears for the X-Type. Maybe time will wound all heals or something & they'll get around to making them for the S-Types too.

Smoked look is easy. Get a can of VHT Night shades. Clean reflectors thoroughly with alcohol or an alcohol wipe.
Spray LIGHT coats do not stop or reverse direction over the reflector. hit it with one even pass. Repeat till desired darkness. Wait a min or so between coats. Leave out in the Sun to dry.
Voila. You can also clearcoat them if you want them shiny but the VHT stuff is pretty glossy if you dont spray it from too far so it ends up dry.
Take care,
George

To smoke them?
Just clean them off well. Dont sand them. The nite shades paint is designed to adhere to lens plastic. Its translucent.
Im thinking about painting a set body color. For that you need to scuff prime and paint.
I have a set on the way from a guy on thd forum that totaled an str.
Hope this helps,
George
