Just thought I would share what I did for performance motor mounts. Doing a engine swap and wanted some more solid motor mounts as I have never been a fan of the hydraulic mounts. My GTO uses a similar style mount, so I ordered some Hinson GTO mounts with the intent of using them on my STR. They are a bit shorter, ~1", but the studs are long enough to use some spacers, and the studs are M12 vs M10 of the stock mounts, so I drilled out the bracket and sub frame holes to make them fit. Won't know the end result for a few months, but just wanted to share.
I also noticed that the engine mount brackets were different between the two engines. Thought it wa weird since they are both 2003 engines. Upon inspection the original engine has Ford mounts and the new one had Jag mounts. Just fount it interesting and thought I would share. Ended up using the Jag mounts as they look like nicer pieces. Both look strong though.

Nice to know that there can be a substitute for the stock mounts.
On the other hand, I am sure that the stock hydraulic mounts are designed to damp out engine vibrations/harmonics so that they are not transmitted into the chassis, and/or into the steering rack.
For a stock S-type I don't see the need. On a modified STR with a lot more HP, they might keep the engine from putting too much torque through the mounts and the engine moving.
I never asked if AVOS, or Deuce 2000 or amiddlecott, if they replaced their stock engine mounts with stiffer ones.
There will definately be more vibrations and harmonics with these mounts. They are not as bad as some other mounts out there due to the design and materials... speaking from my GTO experience as I don't know how these will be on an STR yet. They are probably not for everyone, but I like to feel and hear the engine running a little, have to find the right balance. If you want the stock plush/smoothness that is Jaguar stick with the stock mounts.
I plan on figuring something out on the trans mount too as mine is busted. Not sure what yet though...
Quick update... set the engine in the car after drilling the holes out a little bigger in the frame. Everything weny in pretty easy. Working on the trans at the moment, zip kit, new solenoids, new filter (aluminum pan from URO). Once the trans is done I can start getting the car buttoned up.
