ill be in the market for another STR soon, i had one a few years ago and ended up selling for something more economical.....but now as my wife is leaving with my 550i that i had put black Varstoen wheels on, id like to do that with an STR but im not finding any pics or info.....can someone point me in the right direction as for as wheel size and offests that work to bring the wheel out flush with the fender and tires sizes to best fill the gap..... thx

need to post some pictures of my car... but...

Search for and check out the thread with under_pressure's car on forgestar CF5's, perfect/flush fitment,

I went with staggered 19" forgestar setup as well, with a hair more aggressive offset than under_pressure's car, and it looks killer, will have to post pics sometime...

Conventry Hornets 20x10 rear 20x8.5 front. The issue on STRs are if you want a lip in the back, you have to space out to clear the rear Brembos. Which will cause rubbing with even the most aggressive fender roll.

What kind of wheels did you order that you have been waiting for almost half a year for????

Forgestars. I originally ordered the CF-5s on March 8th and was quoted 6-9 weeks to receive them. After 6 weeks I called them and they said they were behind. After another 9 weeks I called again and they said the barrels were out of stock and they didn't know when they were coming in. At that time they offered to switch me to the F14s (which is what I originally wanted, but was told they wouldn't fit, but now they changed their mind and said they would fit) since the barrels would be in stock soon. So I said ok and I should have them in 3 weeks (this was 2 weeks ago). I'm quite agitated about it but I wasn't sure what else to do so I figured since I've waited this long I might as well ride it out to the end, especially since I already paid back in early March.

That's crazy wait time! I remember iForged wheels getting a terrible reputation in the early 2000s for having their customers wait half a year for their orders. But hey at least you got the wheels you really wanted in the end so thats pretty awesome.

indeed, the f14's were initially considered to be no-fit on the str, but after insisting we try, i took a great deal of measurements with the wheels off to get an idea for specific clearances, sent the details to forgestar and they agreed to build and ship me a set of f14's earlier this year,
i took delivery of them and confirmed they fit and clear everything on the str, so thats probably where forgestar changed their minds on them fitting half way into to your order,
sorry to hear about the crazy delay, but it will be worth it, these wheels totally made the car,
did you go with a set of 18s or 19s?

19s. I will call them again on Monday; hopefully our July 4th holiday doesn't delay them any more as I'm through waiting at this point. Stuff like this makes me rethink owning the car.

Just wait till you get them on there, then it will be all worth it!

So I called again today. They tell me the exact same thing they told me 3 weeks ago: "They are in powder coating and should be ready in a week or two." I tell them that's the exact same thing they told me 3 weeks ago. They say, "Its wheel season, we get a little back logged and its harder to meet our time quotes of 6-9 weeks." I tell them again, that's exactly what you said 3 weeks ago, I need a better answer; you've had my money since March 8th. They told me they would investigate further and email me .
