I have been looking for a while on any hard data what top speed an unlimited nongoverned str would travel at. We know its limited but what if it wasn't. Cant find any facts on it. Anyone know? Anyone guess.
MY GUESS: Considering at 165isMPH the rpms still have a way to go, with an infinite road I would guess 190mph.

It's frontal area and drag coefficient that become the issue not weight but you are on the right track here.

The reason I mentioned weight is that a much lighter car will almost inevitably be smaller and have less drag etc. I believe it's possible to look up many cars' top speeds and if doing that I wanted the OP (or anyone else) to look up only cars of similar weight so as to get a sensible result.

I kind of doubt that but if it does god help you if you haven't upgraded your tires ...
My guess is a bit over 170, 173 or 174. The increase HP required once you get up this high is down right staggering. The S-Type is not a low slung Lamborghini.
I have a 3,100 lb late 70's Maserati with a cd of .21 and 330hp which was super car stuff back then. It will do 160 after about 10 minutes flat out but no more.
