STR transmission valve body 6hp26 substitutions

I believe my car may possibly be experiencing valve body failure and I am looking for a cheap alternative. I know ford made a version of the ZF transmission. Has anyone ever used a valve body from a ford 6R60 box and transferred it to a ZF? My stock valves don't have a scratch and I believe everything but the casting can be transplanted into the cheaper ford valve body if they are the same.

If you really want to know contact Klaus at CTSC. Heck he might even have what you need or a suggestion to your problem.
Genuine ZF Parts
We don't see valve body failures with the ZF so I would be careful about replacing something like that. Especially with non-stock parts.
Are you 100% sure you have the fluid level right? We have seen many problems that turned out to be a fluid level issue. It's not real easy to check.

Thanks MyBlackCat, that was really interesting and somewhat similar to what I am experiencing. I am just torn between my issue being a valve body casting issue like the thread you meantioned, or a solenoid/TCM issue. I was hoping that I could find a Ford(cheap) valve body new and change it just to make sure I could eliminate that as a possiblity. I have since ordered a used assembly, TCM, solenoids, and valve body, used on FleaBay for super cheap. I will use it to trouble shoot my problem and then replace the faulty parts with new.
