STR Transplant/Prototype T-Bird
Thought all you fellow STR owners might get a kick out this. I took my wife's Edge in for service at Tindol Ford in Gastonia, and lo and behold there in the showroom was the one-and-only "Blackbird" prototype. A 2002 T-Bird with complete STR drivetrain used to test the feasibilty of offering it up as an option in late model T-birds. Unfortunately the wizards in control of Dearborn at that time nixed the plan. (The new Ford management team probably would have approved it wholeheartedly)

Wow! Amazing.
Riski - I can't figure out what the alleged "computer interface" would be. The STR has that already - just look at the electrical diagrams, network config, and words in JTIS. There's even a gateway (the ICM - the computer in the dash).
Probably written by someone who didn't know much technical detail about the computers in the STR.
Regardless, the "interface" wouldn't help with tuning as at most it would be the ICM. The drivetrain stuff is gonna be the same as the STR (PCM from Denso, TCM inside the ZF, wired via CAN).
