Default STR Updated Pulley & belt, is there a how to or any tips or tricks?

I searched extensively and couldn't find the answer. I see different methods of how to handle the coolant leak under the S/C; the JTIS says to pull the S/C off while forum members found a solution to avoid doing so.

Just looking for over-simplied instructions, if you need to remove the shroud and radiator, etc...

No. You must remove the super charger. No one has changed the hose without doing that. It's a big job!

Bacardi, the mechanic is pulling the blower off during winter to repair hose, send out blower to be ported, new cam cover gaskets, compression test, etc. I too, wish there was an easier solution to the under blower leaking hose...except to cap it off at the throttle body (not replace it)? Doing this will decrease mpg's and cold weather driveability.

I was using the coolant hoses as an analogy and will not be doing that at this time...But, there are a few posts saying that job can be done without removing the S/C...

Any know about the belt / pulley?

The shroud, not the radiator would need to be yanked for a pulley repair. The belt can be swapped in without removal.

Thanks. So really, put the car on ramps, remove belly pan and shroud, swap pulleys and belts and that's it?

Just out of curiousity which type of pulley are you going to be installing? 3lb or the 1.5lb? B/c if its the 3lb I'm sure you are aware that the Snout on the S/C will need some shaving . By the way what type of Radar/Jammer you have installed in your STR? Looks nicely done

3lb S/C pulley is already on; in fact, car was squeal free until about 1000 miles after the S/C pulley was installed it started to squeal...I had a mechanic check it out and it was the idler...I bought all the parts from Nelley, (FYI, the 6 parts were $362 shipped) and a friend and I are going to attempt to install it whenever the parts arrive.

Thank you with the radar detector compliment...It's the 9500ix...I don't recommend the mirror mount...It makes the mirror bounce way too much...I also don't recommend hardwiring into the mirror for power as you won't be able to tuck the wire to fit in the mirror trim piece unless you use a dremel. Therefore I recommend hardwiring into the sunroof...

Oohhh..my bad! LOlz...glad to see you too bro , I finally got some time to myself after traveling around all over the place for work. Its good to see old faces around here still. I'm planning on upgrading my pulley to either the 3lb or 1.5lb, w/ a low temp thermostat soon, but can't decide on which one though

I'm glad you got the parts you need to rectify the squeal problem. Nelley always never seem to amaze me, they are the best in the business for Jag parts that for sure. Ohh thanks for the heads up about not hard wiring it to the Mirror, I was planning on doing that with my Beltronics radar, but I always thought to myself something or another won't sit right in doing so, but again thanks for the heads up. Good luck on the install, lets us know how it goes...
