Hey I just noticed about a week ago that while i was excellerating my 2004 S-type would be kind of jerky. Now, its doing it slightly more often and there are a few things that i've noticed. 1st, it doesnt happen in or around shifting gears/downshifting or anything so im prone to think it isnt the transmission, 2nd, i had my oil changed 1500 miles ago and it just started last week so i dont think its that, 3rd, whenever I engage the "sport" mode the problem seems to disappear completely, and finally this problem only happens when I am pushing at about half throttle... full throttle seems to be fine and very low throttle seems to be ok as well...

And i know "jerky" is a strange word to use but it kind of feels similar to when you put a ball on the end of a rubber band and drop it and it bounces a little bit in succession. It isnt a violent jerkiness and my passengers dont notice.

Any help you guys can provide before i take it to a shop would be great! Thank you very much

Are the tires balanced?

 

hm... you know I hadnt even thought about that but I had a wreck not too long ago and destroyed three of the rims and bought a new set of different rims... my spare is the full size rim but its of the original set and at about the same time this started happening I had a flat and am currently using the spare.... if thats the issue then i feel like an idiot
