Strange noise when turning

Hey all -
A few months ago, my S developed a strange noise when turning left in a parking lot. It sounds like a small pop when the weight transfers during a left turn at a speed of maybe 5-10 mph like when turning into a parking space or maybe just making a left turn to cross a busy intersection. When I do this at speed (30-40 mph or so), the pop is not noticeable.
I made a visual check of the front suspension and everything seems intact. The rubber boots are in excellent shape up front. Several weeks ago I replaced the upper control arms and I thought that would do the trick. Although the car rides a bit better thanks to that, they weren't the cause of that irritating popping sound.
Has anyone had similar experiences?
I bought a set of ball joints just in case, but I would think that ball joint symptoms would be different in that stability would be lost at speed.
Thanks for your help.
