Hi all
I'm owner of S-type 2001 (X200) and i have problem with closing the sunroof. I have no problem with opening in every way - everything works fine, but I have problem with closing it. Problem is that, when I press sunroof close button or I'm closing windows+sunroof by turning key in drivers door then sunroof will be closing normally but when it will reach full close position point it will pass this position (not stops) and start opening in other way until full open. For me it looks like the sunroof doesn't see that where is the close point or closing position.
I don't know how the problem began because I bought my car with this issue.
Any ideas? Can somebody help pls?
Thank you in advance
Marcin

The sliding roof has an 'anti-trap' feature and I guess it is sensing that something is loading the circuit and the roof module thinks the cause is a solid object blocking 'full closed'?
I have seen this with many cars and the way to diagnose would be to HELP the sliding roof on the final closing. Try to grab the roof panel and force it closed while the motor is closing it.
You might need to lube the sliding contact points or check for debris in the tracks?

Thanks for reply @motorcarman , but this is not the problem what I have. My sunroof is able to close, but it's not stopping when it is fully closed - it is going forward till it will be fully open otherwise. For example in sunroof without problems there shoud be situatation like this: I have fully open sunroof hidden in roof, so when I want close it I press the sunroof control button, and sunroof slides till it will be fully closed and stops. In my car it works like this: I press the button, my sunroof slides and when it reaches fully closed position doesn't stop - it start opening upwards untill it will be fully open again. Thats my problem: my sunroof doesn't stop when shoud and start opening again but in oposite direction.

@M-e-l-l-o-w thanks for your reply. I didn't know that the microswitch resposible for detecting fully closed position can be an integrated part of sunroof motor mechanism. May be motor replacement could resolve my problem.

I know exactly what you're talking about. With the sunroof fully open you press and hold the button to close it. It closes, then pops up to the vent position.
Whatever you do, DONT FORCE IT! That's probably what happened and it's jumped teeth. You need to drop the roof lining. On the main control unit there is a small window with a tiny white dot timing mark. Unless someone shows you, you wouldn't even know it was there. You need to manually put the sunroof in the closed position by pressing the button in small increments. Then remove the roof lining and the mechanism. Wind the gear until the small white dot appears in the window. This is the closed timing mark. If the sunroof is uneven you can gently manipulate it with the main gear detached. Then re-install everything. Hope this helps.

is it possible you might need to re set the module ?
i have had a fritz'ed out sun roof after a flat battery in the past ,
i know there is an age discrepancy .
but surely its worth a try,
have a look here in post #4 here>

@Datsports thank you for your advice. I was trying this method but nothing happends in my car - the reset procedure even starts at all. There ware to different modules and motors between years. From 1999 to 2002 there was one type and in years 2003 to 2008 was second type as far as I know. In that link that you posted there are described reset procedure to X-type from 2003 year. May be there is different reset procedure to S-type X200 (my S-type is from 2001 year)?
