Supercharger Coupler's Spring position?
Im in the middle of putting back together my supercharger and there is a Supercharger Coupler that goes in between the back end of the snout shaft and the gear that drives the blades. This coupler also has an spring loaded clutch built in. The main question here is whether the spring goes infront or behind the dowel pins?? When I took it off I didnt see this and now I cant tell...
Can someone please tell me the answer to my question? Thanks!

I have 3 Eaton M112 superchargers because they had broken couplers. The dealer I worked at was throwing then in the trash. I ordered new GREEN nylon couplers from someone on eBay with the GM oil as a kit and installed them in the chargers.
The plastic coupler will probably fail anyway so I would throw the plastic/spring coupler in the trash and go with the coupler repair kit.
The M90 and M112 couplers are the same.

Hi,
Thread ressurection...
I'm reassembling a charger with an (unbroken) OE coupler. Anybody know which side of the spring the drive pin sits in? You can see the OE coupler here:
How to replace an Eaton Supercharger Coupler : SuperchargersOnline, Worlds largest Supercharger Resource. Get Serious About Power
The slots in the coupler have a half-round shape at one end, and a square "squishy pad" at the other end. The spring sits in the middle.
If you assemble the supercharger with the pin between the spring and "squishy pad" then the charger is "solid" in the throttle direction and the spring catches it on "overrun" direction. If you assemble the supercharger with the pin between the spring and the half-round end, then the charger is springy in the drive direction and solid in the overrun direction.
There's some play in both cases.
