pulley - 1.5lb and 3lb are two options, with many retailers, mina gallery, eurotoys, ebay, etc... about a 25-40whp gain here...
intake... you'll want to contact/search for the 'caldoofy' intake, he is still selling them. very good intakes. Combined with a k&n drop in, you're good for 10-15whp gain there.
These cars don't make huge gains from bolt ons, usually an extra 50whp is what you'll have all modded up...

thanks gt42r im definitely going to buy a pulley...smaller gives more hp correct? and is caldoofy a member that makes them or a vendor...and if you don't mind me asking who would you recommend me buying from??...sorry for all the questions just wanna shop at the best vendor...thanks a lot

best design to date; has a machined fitting for the stock pcv fitting basically... bolt's up to the stock airbox, k&n drop in, easiest and cheapest 10-15whp you will make with just a tube...
Most retailers will offer
option A pulley: 1.5lb no machining required,
option B: 3lb machining required
They all come with instructions on how to first cut off your stock pulley, and slip one of these on. in the 3lb pulley case, you have to grind a nice round 4mm from the diameter of the blowers snout, to clearance the smaller pulley...

I own the caldoofy intake and as GT42R mentioned they are very well made. Its pretty much a perfect fit and the best one available in my opinion. Highly recommend it as it is an easy way to gain some HP and makes your engine bay look a bit nicer as well. As for the Pulley upgrades I have read that the 1.5lb is ideal as the 3lb pulley requires grinding down to make it fit and if used heavily will strain your cars cooling ability.

Also Caldoofys intake tube is if im not mistaken the only one that will allow the breather hose to be attached. Others require you to cut and modify the hose. You will see in the pic a little back hose attached to the side of the tube. This is one of the reasons I went with Caldoofy. Also I do not recommend the Mina Gallery intake as it is actually a smaller tube that ends up restricting air flow lol.

Enjoy modding your STR.
I've had both the 1.5# and 3.0# pulleys on my STR. Dyno results indicate that peak HP and TRQ are a bit higher with the 3.0# pulley but my best 1/4 mile ETs and MPH were achieved with a 1.5# pulley.
I do have the required heavy-duty pulley puller and a 1.5# pulley. If you'd like to private message (PM) me, I'll give you a good deal.
For my STR, keeping everything as cool as possible provides the most power.
From my experience, STR exhaust mods do sound nice but do very little in terms of increasing performance. Installing high-flow cats removing the resonator, installing an x-pipe and installing high flow rear boxes/mufflers made my exhaust extremely loud.
Knowing what I know now, I'd go with a cold air intake, 1.5# pulley and high-flow cats.

Or skip all of that and go for the Twin Screw Supercharger kit which is now available for our vehicles. Good for an extra 200rwhp
However, I am very happy with the performance gain from the Caldoofy Intake tube, K&N panel filter, Mina 1.5lb pulley and Mina axle-back exhaust. Bryan, you need to get a TS under the hood of your STR and make a better record for our cars on dragtimes

On page 16 it shows dyno results of 530rwhp and 488rwtq after a baseline of 337rwhp. The 4.2 in the X350 XJR is the same engine wise as the STR and the kit is also the same. I believe there are already two converted STR's however they are not active on any forums I am aware of.

The TS kit to suit the STR is ready, if you are serious write to Avos and get your name on the list.

Well there a lot more problems with packaging in the STR. I have done measurements on my STR for Avos and looking at the thread mentioned I only see XJR's. Yes the motor is the same but the STR has less room.
If you have anything about a TS on the STR please post it.
We have heard rumors of STR's testing the kit but nothing concrete.

My understanding is;
- The STR/XJR kit is finished and available to buy
- The kit is the same for both STR and XJR
- It fits in the STR
- It made 530rwhp on the prototype XJR

The STR is indeed a tighter fit, but it fits with a small adjustment to the crossbar. There is one STR is driving around with it for a year now.
The STR (and XJR) do have a torque limiter, this has been bypassed via reducing the vacuum in the intake and the bigger injectors (and bigger programmable MAF to suite the injectors and better flow).
