I don't recall ANYONE injecting ANY burnable material before the STR's charger.

Who does?

Compressing something burnable with the air sounds a crazy idea - what am I missing?

Water/meth injection (or now) E85 injection is nothing new, having been around since before WWII. I became involved with it in the late '70s albeit with gas turbine powered turboprop aircraft and not piston powered cars. It is solid technology but is not something that can be simply added under a shade tree with any expectation of success or without risking serious engine damage.

Like most bolt on kits, the promises of substantial power increases are wildly exaggerated and only achievable under very specific circumstances- none of which apply to an S-type. As you suspected it's far more complex than just squirting fuel down the inlet.

I do appreciate the OPs original point that the rotors can be recoated, but again don't remember ever reading that the STR's suffer notably from either performance loss or increased noise. Given the age and mileage of the 'fleet' the issue should normally have surfaced by now.

I had a vehicle before that I ran a meth injection on. It ran great for a bit until I got tired of refilling the bottle. I switched my fuel over to E85 with bigger injectors, deatschwerks fuel pump, bigger injectors, etc. Obviously you'll need a standalone for the added fuel (roughly 25-40% more fuel was dumped).

A buddy of mine ran E85 in his car (with all supporting mods) for 80K miles. when he stripped apart his motor and supercharger, it still looked brand spanking clean.

Stock fuel lines in modern cars can easily accept E85 as there is a tolerance for methanol in our everyday fuel worldwide.

Now, INJECTING E85 is slightly rare in the community that I come from. It was just easier injecting straight methanol due to the cooling capacities it provided sans intercooler.

Although I have no experience in teflon coating + e85/methanol's reactant nature towards the coating itself... My friends and I ran it in our Jackson Racing superchargers (Eaton) and Rotrex kits without problems though. One thing I do know is that you MUST have the supporting mods + ECU to compensate and correct the AFR or else you're in for some serious trouble.

Got everything back and painted some parts for the pretty factor. It's running good and I have the 10% pulley on the way. I have the supercharger ported, recoated, the pulley coming, and a buddy of mine is an incredible tuner out of Oklahoma and I got the Mongoose OBDII cable and version 1.30 software. Can't wait until it's all ready. I'll add some pics.

Kevlar9281. Where did you get your supercharger ported?

I did not think the Eaton M112 would benefit much at all from porting?

Reason I ask is that I am about to get my supercharger rebuilt including rotor recovering and also a 10% pulley.

I am considering getting as much done as I can with Thehighspeedlabs people.

Porting the later model m112 has minimal gains. Waste of money. Rotor coating a great idea. BTW I had my rotors coated by Magnum Power-Charles Warner. All of these guys started off in the Thunderbird SC market porting and modifying the m90 blowers. Ive dealt with all of them.


Also The meth injection will help cool the intake charge. But keep in mind it is a fuel and too much you will run rich..And maximum power comes when you use the meth...and adjust fuel increase timing. Personally I don't like the idea of running the meth at the SC inlet because of potential coating issues.. That's how I stumbled here. Was looking for meth nozzle locations...As for e85...LOVE IT!! my little turbo v6 runs on it..Imagine 850rwhp on pump gas...YEAHHH..But e85 requires an overall larger fuel system that's also compatable with e85. Anyways :O)
