Default Takata air bag?

I just saw that Ford has agreed to a world-wide recall of Takata air bags (you know, the ones that kill the drivers with shrapnel when they inflate...).

Does anyone know if Ford ever used those in our cars?

Would they only be in US cars and/or US-built cars?

I understand USA cars have higher force airbags as they work on the basis people don't wear seat bets - maybe an urban myth?

If Jaguars are affected I would expect a UK recall. There isn't one is there?

I checked the Takata recall list online a couple of weeks ago and saw no Jaguar vehicles on it. Of course, that doesn't mean that Takata components were never used in our cars. This is a fair question to ask Jaguar Corporate but seeing how most if not all vehicle manufacturers choose to drag their feet as long as they can when it comes to recalls, even potentially fatal ones, who knows if Jaguar's answer could be fully trusted....

Decided it was time to resurrect this thread because of all the chatter over on the XF (X250) list.

If '09 XFs have Takata air bags does my '08 S-Type have them, too?

Built in 2007 so I can't see it being so.
