Taking a hard look at one...
Test drove a 2003 STR today... great car... FAAAASST.
But I have some concerns.
It has a "restricted performance" fault showing which is going to be repaired (current owner showed me an estimate that claims a "small vacuum leak" which he will have repaired.)
It also shows a "parking brake fault" when you manually engage the parking brake by pushing down on the button, but that goes away when you turn the engine off and back on. The brake engages in park with no problem and disengages when you take it out of park.
It's also missing one of the two air inlet panels that surround the turn signals in front. The other one seems to pull out easily, so I might as well get two... but where?
It's got 89,000 miles and everything in the interior electronically operates perfectly.
If somebody here speaks Jag, could they help me with this?
THANKS! And, I'm glad to be here!

Both of those faults are common and the parking brake one is probably just a reset due to an improper installation proceedure. It's a very fussy thing.
You'll have to have someone (probably a dealer) dig into the restricted performance issue. It could be a very simple vacuum leak (very typical)or ...
Search on here about the parking brake fault and that should put your mind at ease.
You can search on the restricted performance mode too but you really need to get it to a qualified mechanic. Hopefully the seller takes care of that. Get a guarantee that his repair sticks. I had to have a MAF sensor replaced at 15K miles with identical symptoms.
The "search" function is your friend ...

Welcome, I have an 03 STR. Picked her up in May with 89k on the clock (now 105k). Despite needing new struts, tires, etc., I'm still in luv with her. The gal your looking at doesn't seem to have too many issues. There were only 8500 STR's produced, so don't wait too long making yer mind up.

Like everyone here has said, Welcome Abroad!!
I bought my 03' STR in August of this year with 85k on it. I didnt take it to the dealer, but I took it to a local shop and had the mechanic run a full diagnostic check on it obd2 etc.... Luckily there were no major problems with it. But be advised with this high milage you will have to throw down some coin and get a full maintenance done, like tranny fluid change, filters, plugs, etc... etc..... Don't pay over $10k for it since its a 03' with high milage(dads been in the car business as a dealer for over 35yrs thats how I know)!!!! As you know Jag re-sales aren't that great, and if its from a One owner like you said thats great, work him down on the price Whats the color ext and int?
good luck,

We're down to $9500... it's getting inspected tomorrow, and he's told me he'll pop to get the code fixed, whatever that cost.
Anthracite exterior and charcoal interior as I recall... immaculate. The first thought as I settled behind the wheel was "This is like sitting behind the desk in a sumptuous office."
It was unlike anything else I've ever driven.
