TATA WILL THIS BUYOUT HAVE AN AFFECT ON CURRENT USED S-TYPE PRICES ?
I owned my JaguarS-Type R for about 1 week now, its the best car I ever owned period. Everyone I talked to calls Jags Fords so I guess thats why they depreciate heavily and you can get a 65K+ Performance car for 14K-16K now. But now that Ford is selling Jaguar to TATA will this affect the resale harshly for used Jaguars ?I dontthink people will know about TATA, nevertheless their ownership too.I bought the car wholesale auction price though. Most of the times when I sell a car, especially with warranty I make over 3-4K over wholesale price. I see the prices do go up in the summertime. But since this is my first Jag Im not familiar with the resale. I bought the R for a special reason.I plan on getting rid of the S-Type R in the summertime, when price go up. So I need some imput on TATA will this affect Jaguar used price sales ?

I think it will probably only effect the price of cars that people buy wholesale. Just kidding!! So then I gues that Aston Martins and Land Rovers are fords too huh? I don't think people think that way and I don't think that is why they depreicate so fast either. They were that way long before Ford bought them.

Some people just love attention and benz2jag can't tell us enough times how much he paid and how he only keeps them for 6 mths! and then to say that he is getting rid of the "best car he ever owned, period"
I guess I'm just jealous. LOL!
Take it easy, Just kidding!!

I'm going will "no", the tata acquisition won't change the rate of depreciation HARSHLY in the during this summer. Jag had A LOT of debt, ford lost actually lost money on the deal, however they had to stop the financial bleeding before it got worse. What's assumed is that tata will import a lot of parts from their recently aquired steel company and still have the final assembly in the U.K. Once that happens, depreciation may worsen, however if TataJag is able to makethe same car for $10K less, perhaps the demand, and profitwill rise. Hard to tell, yet I wouldn't buy stock in Jag or tata right now...
