Default Tech Question About Coil Packs

This is a question for the techs here on the forums. I am looking at rockauto.com and looking into the coil packs they have listed there, they have one listed at +/-$30 and another +/-$80 and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the difference is between the 2?

I have a 2005 S-Type VDP, 4.2L

Some of us get them a lot cheaper on EBay and take the chance or you can pay top dollar and take the chance . They are throw away items and produced by a few companies under different names. Then you could go to the dealer and hope theirs don't break down as quick.

Check the connector, the $30 one I bet is a 2 prong and we need the 4 prong

Need to look like this

Man what great pictures!

Also be careful as the V-6 and V-8 use different coils. The S Type suffers because it's not a real common car so a lot of the parts listings are not correct. This is twice as bad with the STR because they keep trying to sell you regular S Type stuff!

The best thing to do is get them from Advance Auto. They are Ford coils and you can usually get 30% off over $100.
