Testing headlamp bulb - HID
#21
Well I decided to give this a rest for a bit before trying WO the bumper removal once more.
What I have done is figured out a holder for the bulb to make securing those wire tabs easier as well as inserting the bulb with the correct orientation too.
It turns out that a 12 pt 17mm LOWES socket slips over the base snugly but not too snugly and with an extension on that I should be able to get the bulb in there much more easily. I HOPE!
That leaves the ignitor and gawd yest having small hands with thin fingers would be great!
I'm going to try a spring clamp attached to the back and use that so that I know the orientation is correct before I try to press it on and rotate.
We shall see ...
These were cheap and now after that 5 hour education I won't spend more than a hour on this attempt. After that it's off to an independent who's done it before to have it done.
Pulling the bumper off where I live is problematical and I don't think I can do it damage free all by myself.
But right now my other vehicle is in the shop for a real SOB intermittent ignition problem so I can't touch this car till that comes back fixed.
