Default Thanks for the add, here's my first Jag.

Finally bough my first Jag. A 1999 V8 S Type.

As soon as I find some original rims, these will be up for sale.

Good choice. Congratulations!
Nice clean looking bodywork and I like the tints.
The wheels aren't too bad.

Imho the wheels are awful. Not sure if she was delivered on 16's or 17's though?

Original wheels would have been 16, 17 or maybe 18. Each model and year vary.
There are threads on wheel choices if you use the site search. I have seen 18" rims on an S type which came from an XF. Looked very nice but they compromise the ride quality on our roads. Ebay usually has a good choice of OE rims, but as usual watch out for the offsets.

+1 on the wheels not matching the car.

You can tell if the vehicle came with 17-inch rims if it's equipped with CATS. Easiest way to tell is see if there is a wire coming out of the top of the strut and connecting to the wiring loom.

I'm surprised it passed MoT with such dark window tint.

Good info here on rim sizes for the s type:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-x200-15/information-data-s-type-wheel-tire-sizes-72110/

Ive got the 16" Spirit rims which I love and I'm keeping them.

I think any tints on the front side windows are illegal now. It used to be that 30% tints were legal on front side windows but the law changed not long ago.
Best to find out before getting pulled over.

It looks like 30% tints are still legal on front side windows.

I'm surprised because you would be stopped very quickly here by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and in most other places.

It may be a good idea to make sure they are indeed thirty percent or less.

I think the front tints will have to go. Definitely not legal, but I know a few people who've had similar tints and they've been kindly advised by plod to remove them, or get nicked. I like the Spirit rims, but am thinking of a set of 17" Juno's. It rides surprisingly well on the 19's, I just want it more factory looking.
