Default Is there Intrusion Sensing on US 2006 STR?

While playing with SDD, it asked me all the time if intrusion sensors are fitted. every time I say yes i get a fault bc it cant communicate with the intrusion sensing module. so i end up picking the choice for "not fitted"

So according to EPC there are sensors. one in the overhead console and two in the B pillars. My overhead console trim has grills that look to be for a sensor but i havent taken it off (bc i always break clips). EPC shows 3 sensors but only the ones in the B pillar say "EXCEPT US" which i take to mean the US market cars dont have them. But that would mean I have the third which is in the overhead console (bc theres no exclusion in EPC) so do i have this or what?

But if US cars dont have intrusions sensors i can go with that and live happily ever after. I will just keep chosing NOT FITTED when SDD asks

But why does my SDD scan show a module called ISM (probably for Intrusion Sensing Module) on the ISO bus but it gives it a Question Mark (?) meaning it cant communicate with it?

If I dont have the module, how can i let SDD know this? I have tried deleting the item from the dealer installed options program but it always says im hot changing anything or the program craps out like there mo module there to communicate with. Any ideas?

heres some screen shots

SDD shows me this:

I have several question marks? ISM is “Intrusion Sense Module” I believe. Why is it here if I dont have one? How can I delete it from this scan results or can I?

Do I have mulri vone or just voice activated? I know I have voice activated but when do u choose multizome. I have weird little speaker grates on my headliner by the back seats? Whats that for?

On my 06 str there is no intrusion sensor fitted or active.....i always say not fitted.....if you go into dealer options section, there are some things you can change .,...for example, daytime running lights and alarm settings.....the other 3 modules that are not active on my car are....adaptive cruise...tire pressure monitor and steering column lock module

It's a sensor for FARTS (Flatulence Auto Rectification Treatment System). It has a sensor feedback multi-stage response.

Stage 1) Switches the HVAC from recirc to fresh air and increases the fan speed.

Stage 2) Opens all the windows, and the sunroof, too, if so equipped.

Stage 3) Brings the vehicle to a stop and unlocks all passenger doors.

Stage 4) Publicly shames you on Facebook and Twitter (#LetUsBreathe).

Stage 5) Schedules an appointment with a dietician.

Whats is this for? Intrusion sensor? Occupancy sensor? Or is it even in my cars headliner?
ok i didnt order the fart sensor so those trim pieces must be for something else. Any ideas> I found this online but it doesnt describe its purpose.

Are you sure those aren't for the air bag system?
I think they call it the Adaptive Restraint Technology System.

I suspect it's right for USA but not (for example) for UK.

Only a few months late, I may have stumbled across an answer. (Thanks to JagV8 for posting this link in another thread.) Looks like those are occupancy sensors for the Adaptive Restraint System. See this training guide, pages 7-67 through 7-69.

Note this guide was dated 2003, so it won't have any info for the later model S-Type, but it looks the same as the X350 model shown.

hi
yes all STR have intrusion sensors
the intrusion sensors and module are in the over head light/console, the two nearest the map lights
all the others on the passenger side are for the passenger airbag, they sense the size and weight of a person and turn the passenger airbag of if the passenger is too small
cheers
Joe
