Hello... I'm new here. =)

I was just wondering if any of you have had to replace your thermostat recently and what it cost you.

I just dropped off my 2006 S-Type (4.2) and they said my thermostat was "stuck closed" and that there's another small hose leak, which was causing my car to overheat when the A/C was on.

I haven't gotten a quote yet, but I'm just trying to brace for it.

Also, the latch on my fuel door broke. They're saying I may need to replace the motor for that. Any ideas on that repair cost as well?

I believe the thermostat runs between $30 and $50 - hopefully, the thermostat housing (plastic I believe) is still intact. As far as the latch issue - hopefully, someone else can chime in...

I had it replaced about 4 months after I bought the car, along with the water pump at the same time. Pump was covered under warranty, thermostat was not. Dealership charged me around $450.
