Default Throttle Body TPS Sensor? Code P1254

The CEL has been on for weeks and sometimes limited performance. 2003 STR.
Now occasional complete limp mode with every engine fault in the book (they go away after restart) Battery and cables are new and clean.
The P1254 code will not go away, from what I'm reading here, sounds like a dreaded TPS sensor that Jaguar does not sell as an individual item just replace the entire Throttle Body!
A new throttle body could cost more than the car is worth, does anyone know how/where to obtain a working used Throttle Body or where to get this unit repaired?

Codes PDF is free and does not show it as a sensor fault.

Search shows some people appear to have sent their TB to be rebuilt successfully or I guess a wrecker would have one.

Default More P1254 Code

Jaguar Issued a TSB #JTB00188 on Feb 26, 2010 that reconfigures the Powertrain Control Module in an attempt to repair this problem.
It sounds to me like the easiest solution, if, in fact it works. My vehicle VIN is less than 300 vehicles newer than the last VIN for this TSB Has any one ever heard of this before? If so, does it fix the problem?

If the internal return spring in the throttle body was broken I would expect the car to be in constant limp mode, it's not. It sometimes has Restricted performance that goes away after a restart, now the limp mode is showing up, expectantly but that too goes away after a restart..
