Default tire sizes

As soome of you know i have two STR's as i just bought a black one to use as a guinea pig to get my green one fixed. After having time to drive them both, i am finding the green one drives far nicer and the the pick up is smooth, whereas the black one seems to hiccup while accelerating. I then noticed the difference in tire sizes as follows:

Green Jag
Front - 245 40Z r18
Rear - 275 35Z R18

Black Jag
Has brand new Pirelli Asimmetrico P Zero Ultra High Performance Tires (tyres) ;_)
Front - 255 40Z R19 96Y
Rear - 255 40Z R19 96Y

Is this a cool setup on the black Jag, the tires are identical, and could this be causing a handling issue??

They're a little too big (rolling radius) but quite a lot too narrow, so I suspect yes.

Why not just swap them car-to-car?

yeah I thought of doing that, but I haven't got the patience to do that, I just thought I remember reading the same tires on the front and back is a dumb thing to do

It's dumb when they're far too narrow for a 400HP car!

just thought of a thing or two the rims on both cars look identical, but you wouldn't be able to fit r19 on an r18 rim would you???, these rims do look in mint condition, but identical to the r18 on my green jag, did they make different sizes for the stype, I would think those rims were made for stypes only, maybe putting 275 r19 on the back may make the difference, any opinions

Thanks, dave

If you're getting a hiccup in engine power/acceleration, not sure if tires will be the culprit...

Do you witness your DSC light flash at all when these hiccups occur?

Many STR's with aftermarket wheels run square fitment, with the same tire size all around, and don't seem to have any issues...

You'll have to describe your acceleration hiccup in a bit more detail...
